Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter
Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, located in Whippany, NJ, has been providing exceptional care to homeless, abandoned and abused animals within the local community for over 50 years. They have joined the Fear Free Shelter movement, which reduces fear, anxiety, stress and frustration often experienced by animals coming into the shelter. Other key highlights include kennel enrichment and free-roaming catteries, creating the healthiest environment possible for their furry residents.
Our team completed light chores and upkeep around the facility, including laundry, cleaning, and yard work over the period of several days, ending each shift with some time to interact with a few of their cats and dogs. We also hosted a food and toy Donation Drive to support MPAS. The team had a great time giving back to a local organization and the animal interaction at the end really made it a pawfect event!

EMBRELLA
Embrella, formerly Foster & Adoptive Family Services, has been serving foster, adoptive and kinship families since 1972. They not only provide services, support and training opportunities to parents throughout NJ, but they also offer programs to support foster children through young adulthood.
A cornerstone for foster parents and kinship caregivers, Embrella hosts annual Back to School Backpack events which are dispersed at their community-based meetings. JR Cares is proud to announce that our dedicated team assembled and donated 200 Pre-K/Kindergarten kits for their 2024 campaign. We’ve also donated surplus items from the kits which include school supply essentials like scissors, markers and glue sticks. These will be repurposed in their activity bags, used as icebreakers for children during the intake process. Embrella also gets back to school supply requests from other agencies and non-profit organizations and our donation of 200 bags will enable them to fill those needs as well.

COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF NJ
For nearly 50 years, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey has been delivering food, help and hope across the state. Blossoming from humble beginnings out of the founder, Kathleen DiChiara's station wagon in 1975, it has grown into the largest anti-hunger, anti-poverty organization in New Jersey.
Today, the organization provides more than 90 million meals annually, along with wrap-around services, including job training, SNAP outreach, nutrition education, and hygiene product distribution. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey partners with more than 800 local food assistance organizations across the state, including food pantries, soup kitchens, child and senior feeding programs, shelters, and more.By donating time, money and food to CFBNJ, we are giving back to our community and helping move one step closer towards their goal of ending food insecurity in the Garden State.
