Gordo The witch doctor Gordo is a very enjoyable cigar from Gurkha. Earthy spicy and notes of coffee and Cedar 4 5 1
Gordo What a smoke. A great full body with a great draw. The flavor is amazing. Not to mild or to strong ! Went great with a nice beer ! 4 5 1
Gordo REALLY SMOOTH SMOKE NICE SLEEK BOX TOO FITS IN MY CIGAR COOLER JUST RIGHT ? 5 5 1
Gordo These are great. I've been going with the toro for a while now but the Gordo is just a jumbo size version with the same smooth draw and hit. Love these 4 5 1
Gordo I couldn't get enough. The cigar was dark and earthy the flavors were dark and earthy. No construction issues and the gored oval shape is quickly becoming my favorite. The box was a bargain and I will be ordering again. Soon. 5 5 1
Gordo I've tried all the vitolas in this line and I find the flavors consistent. As an unabashed AJ fan I was not surprised that I enjoyed this. Recommended. 4 5 1
Gordo You can't bet AJ in my mind my favorite maker of cigars. This cigar has great draw. It's a mild to medium body smoke. This smoke got great flavor. 5 5 1
Gordo I love Nicaraguan cigars and this was a gem to find on a whim. Good construction solid burn and decent flavors. One draw back is I found it a bit one deminsional but it didn't stop me from ordering and a second box already. Good smoke at a good price. Thanks JR. Well done! 3 5 1
Gordo Good flavor. Good draw. Unravel problem on 20% 3 5 1
Gordo Being a new cigar smoker I found this one on the site and thought it looked interesting (yes I bought into the marketing). I was very excited to recieve the box I ordered and after a fantastic meal of bbq me and a buddy each had one. I was instantly blown away. Very easy notes of dark chocolate and coffee instantly. Loved the box press and the draw and clean burn line was amazing. This one will be stocked in my humidor from now on. Nice slow burn lasting about an hour. If you like dark oily rich smoke you will not be disappointed in the witch doctor 5 5 1
Gordo I got my first Witchdoktor in a sampler and it was amazing. Spicy on the first few draws but mellowed into a very smooth leather flavor with a lot of cocoa. The cigar sat a week or two in my humi prior to smoking. One of the best cigars I have smoked. I then bought a box and let it sit about a week in the humi. This time the entire cigar was very spicy and almost no cocoa. More full than medium. The cigar does have a problem staying lit in the final third. The wrapper is thick and construction is good. It is loosely packed so it can get hot if you puff to often. There is also a bit of an ammonia taste. Was I just lucky with the first one or was that one weak compared to what they're supposed to be? I'm going to let the rest of the box sit a few more weeks and try again. Hopefully they mellow a little and lose the ammonia taste because that first one from the sampler was one of my favorite cigars. I wonder if the boxes are fresher than the cigars they put in the samplers. 3 5 1
Gordo Upon lighting this cigar I was greeted with a very harsh smoke. This quickly changed to a very mild almost cigarette taste. It was lacking in character and had a very flat flavor. It burned very badly burning down the side quite unevenly giving it a flavor of stale burned tobacco I was quite disappointed. 2 5 1
Gordo Can't stay away from these beauties! This cigar by AJ is second only to the Montecristo by AJ. Great construction flavor burn and aroma. I need more! 5 5 1
Gordo Not typically a fan of box pressed but this was very well constructed. Upon the dry draw my lips were instantly tingling. It has a dark oily wrapper and a pungent but not unpleasant odor. When lit this to stick is a damn smelly cigar. Started out very peppery but smoothed out after the first third. I smoked this with a few beers but kept wishing I had a bourbon in hand instead. If you don't want a bold and pungent stick this isn't for you. 4 5 1
Gordo Just a great full body cigar. Over all burn was very consistent and even I will most definitely order more 4 5 1
Gordo One of my favorite go-to sticks. Nice spice chocolate espresso cinnamon and subtle sweetness throughout. 4 5 1
Gordo Shocked because I didn't think it would be this good. I bought ten and am online about to order another 20. 4 5 1
Gordo This cigar is awesome great taste and smell. Burns nice with a good draw. Wish they sold them in boxes of 20 5 5 1
Gordo Right down my alley. Great flavor burn and aroma. Flavor changes throughout but never bitter just delicious. Los of leather and cream. Smoked just one but have ordered more. 5 5 1
Gordo Excellent stick overall. Nice box pressing great draw complex med full flavor enjoyable smoke. 4 5 1
Gordo The witchdoktor keeps getting better with age. Full of peppery flavors awaken all the senses. You must try these my favorite is the 6x58. Not a box pressed fan but this cigar amazes with each draw. 5 5 1
Gordo I had one the other day. It has a velvet wrapper with an awesome smoke and construction. I would recommend. Just ordered 5 more. 5 5 1
Gordo I am usually a little skeptical of new cigars but this one hit the ground running. A nice full body smoke with excellent flavor. I would recommend this one for all seasoned cigar smokers. 4 5 1
Gordo I absolutely fell in love with this cigar when I receive in cigar of the month. Love the peppery tastes. I'm hoping I can pick up more flavor notes as I continue with this box. My all time favorite so far in life. 5 5 1
Gordo Nice consistent draw and flavor throughout. Pleasant smoke after a long day at work. 4 5 1
Gordo This is a really good cigar, especially when they're on sale. 4 5 1
Gordo Tasty cigar for after a steak dinner with a Scotch. Burned great, tasted even better.Finger burner!.... 5 5 1
Gordo I expected it to be just ok, since I got such a low price on them. The flavor is amazing, and the burn & draw were perfect. I can't wait to get more. 5 5 1
Gordo Solid stick, good lrice 5 5 1
Gordo Great smoke for the price 4 5 1
Gordo I ordered these on promotion. Wasn't sure what to expect. Beautiful stick, box pressed dark brown. Good construction, even burn. A little light on the filler. Lit it up and I was a little disappointed. Starts out with a funky taste. But literally on the 3rd draw it was clear this was a great smoke. Flavors of leather, earth, spice, cinnamon. Then the sweat wood and espresso kicked in along with the other flavors. All the way throughout. Burned excellent and the draw is perfect. Billows of dusky smoke. Very complex cigar. I loved it and will definitely age a few to see if they improve. 5 5 1
Gordo My favorite cigar this made me really get an appreciation for a cigar the flavor and taste very much awesome I've brought quite a few different cigar and been given quite a few aswell some expensive ones but this is my favorite I really enjoy it 5 5 1
Gordo Great flavor, great draw 5 5 1
Gordo Got one of these in the monthly subscription pack. Didn't think I would like it but I was wrong. Construction is good and I liked the flavors. Worth a try if you haven't had one. 5 5 1
Gordo Another great AJ Fernandez concoction. Good smoke and value. 4 5 1
Gordo Tried these for the first time, bought a 5 pack, will be ordering more, suprised how good they were. 5 5 1
Gordo Tried one of these in a 12 hour special sampler pack. Great smoke! 5 5 1
Gordo I called the Witchdoktor and this is what he said Ooo eee, ooo ah ah, ting tang Walla walla, bing bang Great Smoke. Full flavor. Will buy again. 5 5 1
Gordo Got the cigar in the monthly subscription pack and it reinforced the the decision to be a monthly subscriber. It’s a good and inexpensive way to smoke cigars I wouldn’t normally try. For the money, it’s a pleasing and unassuming smoke. Great flavor that is consistent, as good as many costing twice as much. The burn was straight and steady. Construction excellent. I think it compares nicely with my go to humidor staple Undercrown Maduro. Just ordered a box. 4 5 1
Gordo These have such a great flavor and draw. I smoke almost every stick down to the finger burning point. Just don't want it to end. 5 5 1
Gordo Excellent great value good flavour thank you 5 5 1
Gordo This is probably the best stick in the JR stable. I would put this one up against every other stick in the warehouse. I’d prefer this one over all others. My favorite !! 5 5 1
Gordo I I found this Gordo unusual, in a good way. The flavor is hard to describe but is overall a medium to full flavored cigar with hints of carmel, spice, mixed with other nutty flavors that stay consistent with it's even burn and taste. I will buy it again. 5 5 1
Gordo Too strong for me 1 5 1
Gordo I got a an hour 30 min smoke outa this gem. A smooth, rich smoke with coffee, dark chocolate, and a underlying sweetness. I found it medium + in strength. 5 5 1
Gordo These are impressive, they have a earthy, bakers chocolate. Great construction and burn for an hour and half. 5 5 1
Gordo Awesome smoke. 5 5 1
Gordo Long burning, very smooth with a sweet cocoa and espresso taste that really comes out in the 2nd third. Last third starts getting a bit of pepper, still creamy and and cocoa flavors. Very consistent, long burn, around 2+ hours. Not as strong as I was expecting but I prefer it's medium-full strength more than a extreme powerhouse. Got on sale for an excellent deal, only regret is not getting 3+ boxes. Got the amazing JR 50th ashtray and a lighter free! All in all great smoke and great value! Also am a big fan of Box Pressed large gauge, nothing like a nice V cut for super smooth smoking. 5 5 1
Gordo Got a box of these on special. And special sums it up nicely. Try these you'll like them. 5 5 1
Gordo Good yard cigar 3 5 1
Gordo Great cigar for the small price. Burn an flavor is really good. 4 5 1
Gordo Nice smoke, but expensive for what they are. 4 5 1
Gordo Witchdoktor, An A.J. Fernandez made cigar for JR Cigars. I took one look at it and knew I had to check it out. No construction or packing issues were found in my cigar chosen for review. I love the look of the dark, veiny, and slightly oily Ecuador Oscuro wrapper on this cigar. The pre-light aromas gave me something akin to farm life or tilled soil and leather while the cold draw gave very faint notes of berry and leather. I utilized my cigar guillotine as I normally do these days and opted for a V cut. Lighting up, I was greeted with an open draw and starting notes of spice, wood, bitter cocoa and light leather. I would characterize the starting strength of the cigar as around medium-to-full bodied. Interestingly, all the initial flavor notes stayed as they were until the midway point in the cigar, where I found more spice and woody notes begin creeping into the palette. As the cigar pushed towards the last inch, much heavier wood and bitter cocoa notes finalized the cigar’s life, while pushing right into full bodied range of strength. JR cigars website called this cigar a long burner and I will concur; the total smoking time on the Witchdoktor comes in at 1:52, so plan accordingly should you smoke one. I encountered zero issues in smoking the Witchdoktor. The burn stayed even, the cigar never got harsh or overbearing and the remaining nine cigars cigars all smoked more or less the same, minus a minor burn correction. The only thing I am sad about is that I have smoked the entire box. By-The-Numbers Prelight: 2/2 Construction: 2/2 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 1/1 Total: 9/10 To recap the Witchdoktor: You can usually never go wrong with a cigar from A.J. Fernandez and this is no exception. For those looking for an easy going maduro wrapper cigar, you should consider this. Despite being medium-to-full bodied in strength, I think most cigar smokers could enjoy this without an issue. A fantastic deal for the price. The Witchdoktor is going on my short list for inexpensive cigars to pickup. This one is definitely going to be seeing my humidor again. 5 5 1
Gordo one of my favorite cigars. starting to get a little too expensive for me. 5 5 1
Gordo Great smoke from start to finish. Smooth and consistent draw. One of my new favs!!! 5 5 1
Gordo Witchdoktor box of 10,good smoth draw,only thing not a 5 was construction gave it a 4 ,flavor extent 4 5 1
Gordo Listen, I’m a huge AJ fan. Everything he touches, turns to gold. Except when he allows JR to put their name on it. I’ve had almost every AJ made. For some reason, when JR gets involved, they consistently fail miserably. This is no different. I purchased 2 boxes of the gordo. I smoked 1/2 of a cigar and sent both boxes right back. AJ AJ, I love ya man! But if you’re listening, don’t sell out brother!!! Cigar distributors should stay in their respective “lanes”. Leave the art of cigar making to the artists. Just to clarify, I’m not bashing JR. I love JR and I think they are the absolute best in the industry, at what they do. If you want a cigar for a specific manufacturer, you should consider, just simply buying their cigar, rather than buying their cigar with distributor’s white label. Just sayin …. Mike D 1 5 1
Gordo Solid cigar, this stick holds a good burn, notes of coffee, pepper, and earthy. Pairs well with Bourbon! 5 5 1
Gordo Good construction draw and ash but the flavor was harsh, HARSH! I wouldnt WOULD NOT buy again ! 3 5 1
Gordo I don’t know what else to say. They are incredibly harsh. Burn really hot, and leave a horrible aftertaste. Worst purchase I’ve made. Will not buy another JR exclusive of anything. Always a disappointment. 1 5 1
Gordo Other than an occasional uneven burn this is a decent cigar. 4 5 1
Gordo A good cigar with one drawback. It's huge! I have problems smoking giant cigars like this. It tasted great and needed only one minor butane touchup. 4 5 1
Gordo Very tasty cigar that pairs well with my black coffee. 5 5 1
Gordo Very tasty cigar that pairs well with my black coffee. 5 5 1
Gordo Totally Nicaraguan and boxpressed what else can you ask for. Some don't like the box pressed but I have found that you rarely get one that is rolled loose or too tight. The burn is perfect never needs touch-up. The chocolate and leather taste is great and smoke is plentiful. I have purchased 6 boxes of these and never had a bad one.will always keep in humidor. 5 5 1
Gordo very nice after dinner and a drink 5 5 1
Gordo great smoke 5 5 1
Gordo Having smoke 2 or these: oily cover leaf, draws easily, plenty of smoke, hints of leather, some creaminess, smooth, hint of sweetness, nutty flavor. The burn is uneven, after relight will burn even then starts uneven, frustrating to maintain even burn on both cigars. Being square pressed-even burn on ¾ round, the ¼ side is slow burning and after relight burns even then reverts back to uneven. 4 5 1
