No. 3 Especial One of my favorite brands. I have never had a truely bad Montecristo. Every now and then I get a tight one and have to use a draw poker. These have a nice balance of earthy flavors with just the right amount of pepper. The cigar holds up very well to my heavy wet bite. 4 5 1

No. 3 Especial I seldom like cigars with Nicaraguan tobacco, so when JR mistakenly sent me these instead of regular Montes I just put them in my emergency box, and left them there. I finally tried one the other day, and was very pleasantly surprised. They are very mild in taste and gentle in body, milder even than the regular Montecristo line. They could pass as Dominican puros. They also burn a long time for their size. Some drew easier than others, though. For their exorbitant price I would expect perfect construction every time. Two stars off: one for ridiculous price, the other for inconsistent construction. 3 5 1
