Partagas Black Maximo This was definitely a good purchase. I stopped by the Selma NC store on the way north from base. I picked up a 5 pack of a Partagas Black and a 20 pack of these bad boys. I could tell a slight difference but not a $30 difference. Can’t beat this. This will definitely be on my monthly purchase while on deployment. 4 5 1

Partagas Black Maximo Great. Every day stick. Never tired of smoking one I get a bundle in every order I make monthly always in my box except when I run out. Partagas Black Maximo For the money this is a great stick. It has a nice flavor reminiscent of a cuban pretty spicy but not a pepperbomb more like allspice as well as light cocoa and vanilla and some wood. Wrapper is lighter than expected and isnt a true maduro definitely not a partagas black. Some of them do not draw well but those that do are great. It's no partagas black which I really love but they're good for the money and I'd probably order more when I'm done with them 3 5 1

Partagas Black Maximo I have had these sticks in my rotation for a while now. They are usually pretty rough when they arrive. This time was no exception. I had one the day it came and it was not great. I compared it to one that had been in my humi for 8-9 months (I think) and it was much more flavorful and smooth. I actually found another one and I'm smoking it now- it's a fine consistent stick with a medium body and coffee like flavor with a hint of sweetness. I'll let the new bundle sit for a month or so then they'll be much nicer. 4 5 1

Partagas Black Maximo This is the second bundle of JR Alternatives I have bought. I can't even remember what was the first bundle I bought a few years back. Then I discovered Edicion Limitada JR Alternative. Mt favourite remains the Cohiba Double Corona. Now, my top favourite cigar is Partagas Black Label. I lvoe the real thing, but my wallet doesn't. So when I was browsing and saw thi JR Alternative, I thought to myself, why not give it a try. Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad smoke for the price. And I am only on my second stick. I had the first stick a few days after receiving it, and it did not burn evenly. The current stick I am smoking burns much better. No canoeing or uneven burn. But the taste is still kind of harsh and tough on the pallette. Not really anywhere near the real Partagas. The construction of this cigar is quite good. However, the wrapper is not really dakr and oily like the real thing. The smoke feels kind of light and doesn't have the nice deep flavour of the real thing either. Not sure if it will improve with time in the humidor. My suggestion is to pay about a buck more a stick and get the JR Edicion Limitada Cohiba Double Corona. They've been selling that one out regularly for a good reason. 3 5 1

Partagas Black Maximo I like these, I really do but the inconsistency frustrates me. Leave them in the humidor for a month or two. Know that one time it will be a great smoke, drawing well, etc and the next it will canoe or go out. The longer you hang on to them the better the flavor. Price is a positive. 3 5 1
