Really great smoke, and holds its own in comparison to other more expensive Connecticut shade grown wrapper cigars. Foundation is a really interesting new company, and this cigar is great. They were a little on the dry side as received from JR, but should be fine after some time in the humidor.

I’ve smoked 3 of them so far. A mellow smoke for me, but that’s what I wanted. This cigars construction is on par with any I’ve smoked. It’s unbelievable how smooth and flavorful it is. Again the smoke was so great with the perfect construction and great flavor, for $6 a stick, it’s just unmatched. I’ll be buying more and trying more Foundation cigars.

After having been clued into charter oak cigars I was enthusiastic in acquiring all the variations in the line. The toro, the Lonsdale and especially the corona size.
I got this grande expecting an abundance of flavor with a slightly reduced influence of the wrapper.
I also expected a certain volume of smoke.
It didn't happen. I got just enough smoke to show that the cigar was not tunneling. ( tunneling will most likely deliver NO smoke until it is "stoked" with a few puffs). The flavor, from what little smoke was delivered was fairly attractive but all I experienced was frustration. There is nothing worse than firing up a luscious looking smoke only to be deprived of the pleasure expected. Smoke is the primary reason for any cigar.
The draw is quite acceptable, the burn is fine it just delivers nothing.
Admittedly, this was one cigar out of the box and it was taken immediately from a freshly delivered shipment but I fear the worst.
The other sizes demonstrate no such flaw. I'll try anther in a few days as I doubt this was the intent of the manufacturer.
Very very disappointing.

Grande
A previous review indicated that I was extremely dissatisfied with smoke production in the grande.
I was preparing to return the box but felt that I should give it another chance. A full two weeks out of my humidor but closed box left me with a very nice mild smoke, not exactly billowing smoke but plenty enough to deliver this nutty, milky smoke with no bitter finish, a usual problem with this wrapper.
I am now quite happy with my purchase though the size is sill a bit uncomfortable.
If you like mild cigars and you like large diameter smokes, try a box and let them sit for a week or even two before you liberate the first stick.
It is worth far more than the price you will pay.
