When General Cigar purchased the CAO brand in 2010, Tim Ozgener the former head of the company stepped away from the cigar business to pursue other interests . Now, more than a decade later, Tim has returned and has launched a new company appropriately called Ozgener Family Cigars . The inaugural release, called Bosphorus cigars, are distributed by Crowned Heads, which Ozgener is a co-owner, and is expertly hand rolled at the prestigious Tabacalera Pichardo factory in Nicaragua. This exciting new blend is composed of an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper ov...er dual binders—Ecuadorian and Nicaragua. Underneath is a hearty mix of aged Nicaraguan long filler tobacco from the country’s top growing regions— Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe. A medium-to-full bodied masterpiece, Bosphorus coats the palate with rich, satisfying flavors of earth, wood, subtle floral tones, and pepper, followed by plenty of sweetness on the finish.
