A pioneer in the value-priced premium cigar space, JM Tobacco is renowned for manufacturing some of the highest quality smokes in the market. However, this is not the pitch. After smoking his first premium cigar as birthday present from his son back in 1994, brand founder John Mahroukian wanted to create a cigar equal in caliber but at a fraction of the cost. With that, JM Tobacco was founded and top of mind since entering the market more than 25 years ago has not only been to make top quality cigars, but to offer enthusiasts budget friendly cigars that taste just like premium smokes. Mahroukian and his elite team is back again debuting their latest premium cigar, JM’s Nicaraguan. It joins the company’s Dominican line of value-priced cigars, which are available in four different wrappers: Sumatra, Corojo, Connecticut and Maduro. This latest addition to the solid portfolio is crafted of 100% choice tobacco contributing to its remarkable taste and unparalleled smoking experience. Handmade using the traditional Cuban sandwich construction, the blend consists of well-aged Cuban seed tobacco leaves that are grown in the rich soils of Esteli, Nicaragua. Company president Anto Mahroukian describes the Nicaraguan as a “sweet smoke, with a flavor and body that are tailored to the three-to-four-a-day smoker. The Nicaraguan’s price tag is no deterrent, at less than $3.00 MSRP.” JM’s Nicaraguan is offered in both Sumatra and Maduro wrappers. Its name, like its predecessor is derived from the filler, in this case all Nicaraguan. Atop of this hearty helping of Nicaraguan long filler is a Maduro-fermented Connecticut Broadleaf binder. Wrapping this lush core with a sweet chocolatey Maduro leaf results in the blend falling into the mellow-medium range appealing to smokers whose palates prefer a more mellow smoke. Tasting notes here are creamy and sweet and include hints of chocolate and nuts. With the Sumatra wrapper, the smoke is a medium bodied treat delivering a slightly stronger profile with flavors of pepper and earth. Following suit like the rest of JM’s selections, the Nicaraguan is well suited for the daily smoker and can be enjoyed anytime of the day pairing just as easily with a morning cup of coffee as a fine glass of wine in the evening. Simply packaged and further establishing their branding, cigars come 50 to a box, except for the large ring Gordos which are available in a 24 count.
