Hambones are a value priced line of cigars that are a reimagined version of a popular old American brand from the mid-1920s that was manufactured for J.P. Alley by W.C. Frutiger & Co. of Red Lion, Pennsylvania. The original cigars were called J.P. Alley’s Sweets 5¢ that had a picture image of a pilot, nicknamed “Hambone” smoking a cigar while flying over the ocean on every box.
