Foundation Charter Oak Especiales cigars are the newest member of the top-rated Charter Oak series produced by foundation owner, and famed master blender Nick Melillo. These top notch cigars pay homage to Melillo’s home state of Connecticut by featuring two blends that highlight top-quality Connecticut wrappers. Both blends are offered in a single (5.5x 48) size, and each blend is named after one of Melillo’s two grandfathers, both of whom would regularly smoke cigars made solely with Connecticut-grown tobaccos. Meticulously handcrafted at the famed Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez factory in Nicaragua, both blends start off with a core of aged Nicaraguan long fillers bunched inside a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder. The difference being that the Especiales Pegnataro comes dressed in a silky smooth, golden brown Connecticut Shade wrapper while the Especiales Pasquale wears a thick, chewy, Connecticut Broadleaf maduro varietal. Especiales Pegnataro cigars are medium-bodied and layered with luscious notes of leather, cinnamon, graham cracker, spice, and subtle hints of sweetness.
